Happy Birthday to my Charisimo

Let me introduce to you a very special, talented, charming, funny, beautiful girl named Charis Nichol Penner. She arrived on March 2, 1993. Wow what a day that was. I was so excited for the arrival of my very first niece.

Charis was a very 'interesting' child, to say the least. She is very smart, witty, and very keen. She did not believe that sleeping would benefit her any, so she just didn't. This belief in not sleeping continues on to this very day. She may miss some very important happenings. Some things never change.

Being as smart as she is, she was very very eager to learn new things from her Aunties. Somethings I am told will come back to bite me in the butt, but oh well, it was worth all the laughs. And laughs, we had. We could get this kid to do just about anything without a complaint. She loved having stories told to her and while telling these stories, she listening intently to every single detail, retaining ever bit of information that came out of you mouth. Again, some things just don't change.
I enjoyed all the time I got to spend with her, and it was a lot. I never got tiered of that little crazy gal. I have to apologize though for some of the things I did to her. Folding her in a hide-a-bed, dragging her along in a sled on your head, and yet, not a complaint out of her.
Well Charis, it wouldn't be a birthday wish from Auntie Cheryl without a little embarrassment posted on the net. I guess I should be the one to be embarrassed, these pictures are not very flattering of me. Hope you have a great day, a great year and we will see you very soon. I love you and Sawyer and I wish you a very happy birthday. You are a girl with great 'Charisma'.

One more thing. No matter how old or how big you get, I will always rock you on my lap. Don't forget that.
